Indonesian police intercept drug shipments hidden in lighters and toys

Indonesian police have intercepted two separate drug trafficking attempts involving unconventional concealment methods used to evade detection.

In Serang, the Polresta Serang Kota narcotics unit arrested a suspect identified as AL. The suspect attempted to hide more than five grams of methamphetamine inside modified gas lighters. The lighters had been emptied and refilled with drugs to appear as ordinary items. The arrest occurred in the Walantaka area after officers became suspicious of the suspect's movements.

In a separate incident, the Cimahi Police arrested a 30-year-old online motorcycle taxi driver, Tatang Komara, in Subang. Authorities seized 83.28 grams of methamphetamine that had been hidden inside children's toys, such as small toy cars, to camouflage the illegal substances. This arrest followed an investigation stemming from a previous narcotics arrest in Cimahi.
