Indonesian police investigate separate cases of child sexual abuse

In Sumba Timur, East Nusa Tenggara, the family of public figure and politician Aldy Wali has expressed support for law enforcement following allegations of the rape of a 13-year-old girl in the Lewa District. Aris Manja Palit, a spokesperson for the family, stated that they are allowing the Lewa Police to conduct investigations to uncover the facts and evidence, emphasizing that the family does not wish to draw conclusions prematurely.

Separately, in Sumenep, East Java, police have arrested a 41-year-old man, identified as AS, for the alleged sexual abuse of a 17-year-old. The Sumenep Police Rest Area (Polresta Sumenep) reported that the suspect was detained following a report from the victim's family. Authorities have seized several pieces of evidence, including clothing and a chain, as they continue their investigation into the incident which reportedly occurred in Matanair Village.
