Indonesian police launch religious tolerance initiatives in South Sumatra and Sidoarjo

Police officials in Indonesia are conducting community outreach programs to strengthen interfaith tolerance and ensure security during religious services.

In Palembang, South Sumatra, Deputy Regional Police Chief Brigadier General Irwansyah attended a service at the Alfa Omega Pentecostal Church. The visit is part of a 100-day work program by the National Police Chief aimed at building partnerships with diverse religious communities and ensuring congregants can worship in a safe and conducive environment.

Similarly, in Sidoarjo, East Java, Police Chief AKBP Bobby A. Condroputra met with the congregation of the Indonesian Christian Church (GKI). This initiative, part of the ‘Sidoarjo Akrab Seiman’ (SAS) program, focuses on maintaining personnel readiness to secure places of worship and fostering harmonious communication between the police and various community elements regardless of religious background.
