Indonesian police seize 128.7 kg meth in South Kalimantan, 13 g in Bengkulu

From 8 to 12 June 2026, the South Kalimantan Police (Polda Kalsel) intercepted a maritime shipment of 128.7 kg of methamphetamine (sabu) valued at over Rp231 billion. The drugs, hidden in large suitcases, were destined for mining and plantation workers in the province. Five suspects from Palembang, Depok and South Kalimantan were arrested at ports, a hospital parking area and other locations. Kapolda Irjen Rosyanto Yudha Hermawan said the operation disrupted an international drug network that moved the narcotics from West Java ports to Banjarmasin.

In a separate operation, Polres Bengkulu Selatan conducted a 14‑day raid from 21 May to 4 June 2026, seizing 13.01 g of methamphetamine and arresting four local residents of Kedurang. Two were designated as operation targets and two were non‑targets. The main suspect, identified as MA, possessed 12.08 g of the drug. Police emphasized the need for community reporting to combat drug trafficking.

Both operations underscore Indonesian authorities' intensified crackdown on meth distribution across the country.
