Indonesia's regional budgets show deficit in Seram and infrastructure push in East Java

The 2025 budget of Kabupaten Seram Bagian Timur (SBT) recorded a deficit of Rp46.4 billion after expenditures exceeded revenues. Despite the shortfall, the district retained a surplus financing balance (SiLPA) of Rp20.1 billion and covered the gap with net financing of Rp66.5 billion drawn from the previous year's SiLPA.

In Gorontalo Province, the DPRD’s Budget Committee (Banggar) continued work on the KUA‑PPAS amendment for the 2026 APBD, aiming to align spending with fiscal capacity and local development needs. The session was led by DPRD Chair Thomas MT Mopili and involved the provincial budgeting team headed by Sofian Ibrahim.

East Java’s provincial government announced that the 2026 APBD amendment will allocate more than Rp1 trillion to road and bridge projects and to water‑resource infrastructure for flood mitigation. The total provincial budget rose to Rp29.8 trillion, up from Rp27.2 trillion, with the increase funded by higher BLUD revenues and the 2025 SiLPA. Sekda Adhy Karyono and Bappeda head Mohammad Yasin highlighted the focus on accelerating infrastructure to improve connectivity and support economic activity.
