Indonesian Red Cross celebrates 81st anniversary with social programs

The Indonesian Red Cross (Palang Merah Indonesia, PMI) celebrated its 81st anniversary with various social activities across different regions on September 19, 2026. The celebrations followed the national theme, “Peduli, Bergerak, Bersama” (Care, Move, Together).

In Kendal, the commemoration included a healthy walk with approximately 1,500 participants and a home renovation assistance program for a resident in Caruban Village. Kendal Regent Dyah Kartika Permanasari emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration to improve community welfare and strengthen humanitarian values.

In South Tangerang (Tangerang Selatan), the anniversary events in Keranggan Village featured blood donations, health screenings, the distribution of clean water and drinking water, and awards for dedicated citizens and institutions. PMI South Tangerang Chairperson Airin Rachmi Diany noted that the organization relies on collective action to provide meaningful benefits to the community.
