Indonesian regional authorities implement measures to control inflation
Regional authorities in Indonesia are implementing various measures to manage inflation and ensure the availability of staple goods. In Riau, the provincial government, through the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) and PT Riau Pangan Bertuah, is conducting cheap market operations across five locations, including Pekanbaru and Kampar. These operations aim to stabilize prices for essential items such as rice, sugar, cooking oil, salt, and eggs.
In the Banyumas Raya region, which encompasses Banyumas, Cilacap, Purbalingga, and Banjarnegara, Bank Indonesia Purwokerto is strengthening its '4K' strategy to keep inflation within national targets. This strategy focuses on price affordability, supply availability, distribution smoothness, and effective communication. Recent data shows monthly inflation in Purwokerto at 0.39 percent and Cilacap at 0.50 percent, driven largely by increased demand for chicken during recent holidays.
