Indonesian regional governments implement new health and safety regulations
In Kulonprogo, the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) has officially passed a new regional regulation (Perda) focused on the control and supervision of alcoholic beverages and the prohibition of counterfeit or mixed alcohol (oplosan). The regulation aims to address public health threats and fatalities caused by unregulated alcohol consumption while maintaining legal certainty for licensed businesses.
In Southeast Sulawesi, the provincial government is strengthening healthcare services for island communities. Through the 2026 revised budget, Governor Andi Sumangerukka and the DPRD have agreed to add seven sea ambulances. This brings the total planned procurement for the year to nine units, intended to improve medical mobility and referral services across the province's various islands.
