Indonesian regional governments manage 2026 budget adjustments

Regional governments in Indonesia are addressing budget management and adjustments for the 2026 fiscal year.

In Southeast Sulawesi, Governor Andi Sumangerukka has urged regional apparatus organizations (OPD) to accelerate budget absorption, which stood at 62.31 percent as of the fourth quarter of 2026. The Governor emphasized the need to identify and resolve obstacles to ensure optimal realization, while also calling for increased discipline, integrity, and a reward-and-punishment system for civil servants.

Meanwhile, in North Sumatra, the provincial government and the regional parliament (DPRD) have finalized the evaluation of the 2026 Revised Regional Budget (P-APBD). Following an evaluation by the Ministry of Home Affairs, regional revenue has increased by Rp1.29 trillion to a total of Rp12.955 trillion, largely due to central government transfers. Consequently, regional expenditure has also risen to Rp13.337 trillion.
