Indonesian regional leaders attend Lemhannas leadership training
Indonesian regional leaders are participating in the Regional Leadership Strengthening Course (KPPD) organized by Lemhannas RI, the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center, and the Ministry of Home Affairs. The program, which began on September 2, 2026, aims to enhance leadership capacity, national insight, and strategic governance skills among local heads of government.
Among the participants are Afni Zulkifli, the Regent of Siak, and Amri Jamaluddin, the Regent of Kolaka. While attending the training in Jakarta, Regent Afni Zulkifli has continued to monitor forest and land fires (Karhutla) and air quality in Siak Regency. As of September 4, 2026, air quality in all sub-districts of Siak was reported as unhealthy due to local fires and smoke drifting from neighboring provinces.
Regent Amri Jamaluddin noted that the training provides a strategic perspective for addressing regional issues. The curriculum includes geopolitics, national resilience, and visionary leadership, supplemented by discussions with national figures and online learning through the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy in Singapore.
