Indonesian sailor missing after drone attack in Bab al-Mandab Strait

The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that one Indonesian crew member remains missing following a drone attack on the merchant vessel MV Tihamah in the Bab al-Mandab Strait, Yemen.

The vessel was carrying 11 crew members, including eight Pakistani nationals and three Indonesians. While two Indonesian crew members have been confirmed safe—one with minor injuries requiring medical attention and another with minor shrapnel wounds—the third remains unaccounted for. Search and rescue operations in the maritime area are ongoing.

The Indonesian Embassy in Muscat is monitoring the situation and coordinating with relevant authorities to ensure the protection of the crew, including preparing for potential repatriation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also been in contact with the families of the crew members to provide updates on the situation.
