Indonesian Telecom Indosat Pushes 5G Adoption Among Gamers

Indonesia’s 5G network continues to expand as operators roll out coverage and encourage users to verify device compatibility. Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison is targeting the gaming community to accelerate 5G uptake. The carrier partnered with HoYoverse for the HoYo FEST 2026 Indonesia event in Jakarta, showcasing low‑latency gaming, real‑time streaming and other immersive experiences on its 5G network. Director and Chief Growth Officer Apoorva Mehratra said the collaboration aims to make Indosat’s 5G the backbone for gamers’ online and offline activities. The company also announced a capital‑expenditure increase to Rp 23 trillion after winning 700 MHz and 2.6 GHz spectrum licences, underscoring its commitment to broaden 5G services across the country.
