Indonesian universities partner with energy firms to boost green skills

Educational institutions in Indonesia are strengthening collaborations with industrial players to prepare students for the growing demand for green skills and Net Zero Emission (NZE) targets.

Politeknik Negeri Manado (Polimdo) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vena Energy (PT Infrastruktur Terbarukan Lestari) to enhance synergy between vocational education and the renewable energy sector. Polimdo Director Mareyke Alelo noted that the partnership aims to equip students with essential skills for green jobs, particularly in solar, wind, and water energy, as the global market shifts away from conventional fossil fuels.

In Central Sulawesi, PT Donggi Senoro LNG (DSLNG) is engaging with Universitas Tadulako through the ‘DSLNG Goes to Campus’ program. The initiative focuses on integrating technology and sustainability to support NZE goals. DSLNG Environment Analyst Dwi Fitri Lestari emphasized that industry collaboration provides students with practical perspectives on how sustainability and technological innovation are used to optimize energy efficiency and manage emissions in LNG processing facilities.
