Indonesian women’s doubles pairs advance to quarterfinals at Washington DC Open

Indonesia’s Janice Tjen, partnered with China’s Shuai Zhang, defeated the Russian‑Kazakh pair Kamilla Rakhimova and Fang Hsien Wu in straight sets (6‑3, 6‑4) to reach the quarterfinals of the Mubadala Citi DC Open, a WTA 500 event in Washington, D.C.

Aldila Sutjiadi, playing alongside New Zealand’s Erin Routliffe, also progressed to the quarterfinals after a 6‑3, 7‑5 win over Sofia Kenin and Anastasia Potapova. Sutjiadi said the duo will adopt an aggressive style against their next opponents, the home team of Clervie Ngounoue and Anna Smith. Both Indonesian pairs view the tournament as key preparation for the upcoming US Open hard‑court swing.
