Indonesian women's groups launch empowerment and cultural initiatives

Various women's organizations in Indonesia are conducting initiatives to promote economic independence and cultural preservation through community-based programs.

In Boalemo, the Forum Penggerak Perempuan Bina Mandiri (FPPMB), in collaboration with the TP PKK and Gabungan Organisasi Wanita (GOW), held a Health and MSME Bazaar in Wonosari. Local officials noted that empowering women is a strategic way to strengthen family resilience and regional prosperity.

In South Sorong, GOW organized a culinary training session for women in Waigo Village. The program taught participants how to process local ingredients, such as bananas and taro, into various snacks and baked goods to increase the economic value of local produce.

Additionally, in Sorong Regency, a fashion show featuring Papua batik was held at the Aimas Convention Center. The event, which included 40 participants from various women's organizations, aimed to promote traditional Papuan textiles as creative formal attire and celebrate local cultural identity.
