Indonesia's Agriculture Minister says 130 palm oil firms still haven't raised farmgate prices

Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman told a coordination meeting that about 130 out of roughly 1,900 palm oil companies have not yet increased the price paid to farmers for fresh fruit bunches (TBS). The ministry says 80‑90 % of firms have already adjusted prices in line with the rise in global crude palm oil, and it is continuing to monitor both those that have raised prices and those that have not to prevent any rollback.

Sulaiman noted that TBS prices vary by region, ranging from around Rp3,000 to Rp3,600 per kilogram, and emphasized that the government, together with the food security task force, will keep oversight across Indonesia. Earlier in June, the ministry had identified about 274 companies that had not yet complied, and warned that the decline in farmgate prices threatens the income of roughly 15 million palm oil farmers.
