Indonesia's APINDO Rakerkonas Highlights Business-Government Collaboration on Labor Skills
Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), Andi Yuslim Patawari, attended the 35th National Working and Consultation Meeting (Rakerkonas) of the Association of Indonesian Entrepreneurs (APINDO) in Makassar on 3‑4 August 2026. He praised APINDO’s role in fostering industrial growth and urged stronger partnerships among large, medium and small enterprises and the government to create a healthier, more inclusive business ecosystem.
Labor Minister Yassierli, speaking at the same meeting, said the government will reinforce the labour market to ensure workers’ competencies match industry needs. He highlighted that over 80 % of companies struggle to find suitably skilled labour and about 36 % of workers experience a skills mismatch, underscoring the need for a “skills‑first” approach and closer coordination with business groups like APINDO.
