Nusron Wahid faces potential forced pickup by KPK after two missed summons

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is considering a forced pickup of Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Nusron Wahid after he failed to attend two scheduled investigative interviews. The summons is part of an ongoing investigation into alleged bribery and extortion related to the processing of Building Use Rights (HGB) for PT Summarecon Agung Tbk and other activities within the Ministry of ATR/BPN.

Nusron missed his initial summons on October 7, 2026, citing internal ministry activities, and subsequently failed to appear for a rescheduled interview on October 15, 2026, without providing confirmation or a reason for his absence. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that investigators are weighing next steps to ensure the legal process remains effective.

The investigation has already led to eight suspects, including high-ranking ministry officials and business executives. Previous developments in the case include the seizure of approximately 106.3 billion rupiah in cash.

Separately, a fire broke out at the Karawang BPN office in West Java on the night of October 14, 2026. Deputy Minister Ossy Dermawan visited the site to oversee the situation, noting that while the archive warehouse was impacted, no casualties were reported. Police are investigating the cause of the blaze.
