Indonesia's BNPP proposes routine border meetings with neighboring nations

Tito Karnavian, the Indonesian Minister of Home Affairs and Head of the National Border Management Agency (BNPP), has proposed establishing routine meetings every six months with Indonesia's neighboring countries to discuss border-related issues. The initiative aims to strengthen communication, cooperation, and peaceful conflict resolution regarding border management and regional development.

During the Indonesia Border Partnership Coffee Morning in Jakarta, representatives from several neighboring nations participated, including ambassadors from Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste, Vietnam, Singapore, and the Philippines, as well as officials from Australia and India. The forum served as a platform to introduce the specific functions and development programs of the BNPP to international partners.

The discussions focused on fostering beneficial relationships through trade and cultural cooperation, with the goal of improving the welfare of communities living in border regions. Karnavian encouraged direct communication with his office to resolve any border issues in a friendly and peaceful manner.
