Indonesia's BPBD Reports Floods in West Sumatra and Plans Artificial Rain in Lampung

The West Sumatra provincial disaster agency (BPBD) recorded heavy‑rain‑induced flooding and landslides on 25 July 2026 in Agam and Pasaman Barat regencies. The events caused road collapses, house inundations and disrupted transport, but BPBD secretary Ilham Wahab said no fatalities occurred. In Lampung province, BPBD is preparing a cloud‑seeding operation to generate artificial rain as the dry season is projected to peak in September 2026.
