Indonesia's BPOM to serve as expert witness in illegal facelift case involving former beauty queen Jeni Rahmadial Fitri

The Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (BPOM) will act as an expert witness in the investigation of an alleged illegal facelift performed in Pekanbaru, Riau. The procedure is linked to former Puteri Indonesia titleholder Jeni Rahmadial Fitri.

BPOM head Taruna Ikrar said the agency will provide testimony through its Pekanbaru laboratory, focusing on the substances injected during the procedure. While the case falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health and the police, BPOM’s mandate covers any cosmetics or drugs used that may not meet regulatory standards. The authority has expressed concern and pledged to take firm action if illegal or substandard products are identified.
