Indonesia's Creative Economy Ministry records Rp20.6 bn assets and 27.4 m jobs
The Ministry of Creative Economy and Creative Economy Agency (Kemenekraf) posted a balance sheet showing total assets of Rp20.62 billion, liabilities of Rp5.64 billion and equity of Rp14.98 billion at the end of fiscal year 2025. Operating expenses reached Rp396.17 billion, creating an operational deficit of Rp394.91 billion, while a non‑operational surplus of Rp1.24 billion was generated from sales of government‑owned equipment and follow‑up payments to the Audit Board. The ministry realised a gross spending of Rp391.13 billion, representing 93.7 % of the effective budget, and highlighted a BPK award for achieving a 91.1 % compliance rate on audit recommendations.
In a separate briefing, Kemenekraf said the creative‑economy sector absorbed 27.4 million workers, 64 % of whom are Gen Z or millennials. Investment in the sector reached 134 % of the 2025 target (Rp183 trillion) and exports hit 120 % of the USD 26.4 billion goal. In the first quarter of 2026, investment was 47 % of the Rp146 trillion target and exports amounted to USD 9.99 billion (35 % of target). The ministry identified 21 high‑growth subsectors across culture, design, digital‑technology and media, and outlined seven priority areas: fashion, culinary, crafts, games, applications, film, animation and music.
