Indonesia anti‑corruption prosecutor Febrie Adriansyah resigns after police raids
Jaksa Agung Muda Tindak Pidana Khusus (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah resigned on 11 July 2026 after a series of police raids seized 74 kg of gold bars and roughly US$20 million in cash and foreign currencies from his properties in Bogor, South Jakarta and other locations. The raids were part of a joint investigation by the National Police’s anti‑corruption unit (Kortas Tipikor) and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) into alleged corruption, bribery and money‑laundering linked to state insurers Asabri and Jiwasraya, coal procurement for PLN and other large‑scale schemes that have been associated with recent power blackouts.
The Attorney General’s Office accepted his resignation, stating it was to preserve the integrity, objectivity and neutrality of law enforcement while the investigation continues. No formal charges have been filed yet, but police later announced that Febrie himself had been named a suspect, along with a private‑sector individual identified as “DR”. The DPR’s Commission III formed a supervisory team to ensure the ongoing cases proceed without interruption. The Ministry of Law appointed Rudi Margono, a senior prosecutor, as acting Jampidsus to maintain continuity of the office’s functions.
Authorities have interviewed 15 witnesses and seized additional assets, including cash in Indonesian rupiah, US dollars, Singapore dollars and Saudi riyals. The investigation remains active, and officials have emphasized that the legal process will continue independently of Febrie’s departure.
