Indonesia's Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Muhammad Syafii calls for integrity zones and anti‑LGBTQ programs

Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Muhammad Syafii asked units of the ministry to establish "Integrity Zones" that operate on the spirit of worship rather than merely meeting administrative requirements. He emphasized that services should be clean, accountable and transparent, citing the Semarang Religious Training Center (BDK Semarang), which has earned a corruption‑free status, as a model for advancing toward a Clean and Service‑Oriented Bureaucracy.

Syafii also said the ministry's stance against the spread of LGBTQ culture must be turned into a systematic work program. He outlined measures such as strengthening marriage guidance (Bimwin), empowering religious counselors in KUA offices, fostering harmonious families through regular KUA activities, integrating modesty and health education into madrasah and religious‑college curricula, and producing digital dakwah content that highlights the importance of protecting human dignity and the sanctity of marriage.
