Indonesia's Digital Platforms Submit Child‑Safety Risk Reports

Indonesia's Ministry of Communication and Digital announced that 200 digital platforms have submitted self‑assessment reports on child‑safety risk profiles under Government Regulation No. 17/2025 (PP Tunas). The submissions, disclosed by Minister Meutya Hafid in Jakarta on 25 June, cover e‑commerce, gaming and entertainment services and include major players such as Netflix, ChatGPT, PUBG, Shopee, Tokopedia and Lazada.

The ministry is now evaluating the reports to categorize each platform’s risk level and plans to publish official risk profiles for public transparency. Enforcement actions cited include TikTok disabling 4.1 million child accounts by June 2026 and YouTube removing 600 000 child accounts by May 2026. Platforms that have not yet filed are warned to comply promptly or face regulatory enforcement.
