Indonesia's Directorate General of Taxes targets 2027 revenue goals
The Indonesian Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) is focusing on administrative discipline and international regulatory alignment to meet revenue goals. Director General Bimo Wijayanto stated that achieving the 2027 tax revenue target of Rp2,593 trillion relies on the consistent execution of existing strategies rather than new tax policies. This approach involves multi-layered monitoring through digital systems to ensure regional offices understand local taxpayer behavior and compliance levels.
In a related effort to modernize the tax landscape, the Large Taxpayer Office of the DJP held socialization sessions for 191 major taxpayers regarding the implementation of the Global Minimum Tax. This initiative aims to prepare businesses for new international taxation frameworks, such as PMK Number 136 of 2024, to prevent cross-border tax base erosion and ensure a fair global business climate.
