Indonesia’s Dukcapil Expands Digital Identity Activation for Public Services
The Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Ditjen Dukcapil) of Indonesia’s Ministry of Home Affairs held rebranding events in Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi, and Nabire, Central Papua, to promote the activation of Digital Population Identity (IKD) as a gateway to integrated public services.
Officials, including DPR Commission II member Komarudin Watubun and local leaders, emphasized that accurate, validated population data are essential for delivering targeted social assistance and other services. "Data kependudukan yang akurat menjadi fondasi penting dalam mewujudkan penyaluran bantuan sosial tepat sasaran," they said, urging full use of e‑KTP and digital family cards.
The programme features free registration drives (“Jemput Bola”) and coordination with local civil‑registration offices to ensure all residents are captured in the national database, aiming to improve efficiency, transparency, and benefit delivery.
