Indonesia's Energy Ministry reports record PNBP and secures $20.9 bn from coal auction

Indonesia's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) announced that its non‑tax state revenue (PNBP) reached Rp 138.40 trillion in 2025, surpassing the Rp 127.48 trillion target. By July 2026 the ministry had recorded Rp 96.26 trillion, or 70.69 % of the 2026 target of Rp 136.18 trillion. The ministry also received an unqualified audit opinion from the Supreme Audit Agency for its 2025 financial statements.

A separate coal auction of seized stockpiles in East Kalimantan generated an additional Rp 20.98 billion. The auction covered 76,742 metric tons from 11 stockpiles, with PT Wisesa Janitra Sejahtera named the winner and a deadline of 10 September 2026 to unload and transport the coal.

Minister Bahlil Lahadalia reiterated the government’s ban on exporting bauxite and copper concentrates to foster domestic downstream processing. Meanwhile, electricity outages in Kalimantan, caused by import difficulties from Malaysia and maintenance work, have been reported as improving. The government also resolved export hurdles for mineral commodities caused by differing interpretations of rare‑earth content, enabling more than 100 vessels to resume exporting roughly 400,000 tons of minerals valued at about Rp 2.2 trillion.
