Indonesia's Fertilizer Producers Boost Output and Record Profits in 2026
PT Petrokimia Gresik said its fertilizer output rose to 2.72 million tonnes in the first half of 2026, up from 2.43 million tonnes a year earlier. The company added a Flex‑Phos multi‑product line, expanded acid‑sulphur storage to 100 000 tonnes, built a new 60 000‑DWT dock and secured an additional 30‑35 MMSCFD of natural‑gas supply through agreements with Husky‑CNOOC Madura and PC Ketapang II, intended to run until 2035. It also launched a carbon‑capture and utilisation pilot under the Ministry of Industry’s decarbonisation roadmap.
State‑owned PT Pupuk Indonesia reported a net profit of Rp 8.51 trillion for January‑June 2026, a 253 % increase year‑on‑year, with revenue of Rp 59.67 trillion and EBITDA up 140 % to Rp 14.28 trillion. Management attributed the surge to operational‑excellence programmes, cost‑leadership, broader business‑streamlining, and diversification into non‑subsidised and non‑fertiliser products, reinforcing its role in national food‑security.
