Indonesia's Foreign Minister outlines national resilience at UN

During the 81st United Nations General Assembly, Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono emphasized that national resilience serves as the foundation for regional and global stability. He highlighted that Indonesia aims to build this resilience through food and energy self-sufficiency, investments in education and health, economic stability, and the strengthening of democracy, human rights, and the rule of law.

Sugiono noted that domestic food security would allow Indonesia to contribute more effectively to global food availability, while energy resilience would support the global energy transition. He also stressed the importance of a resilient multilateral system to navigate global competition and volatility.

In response to the speech, Dr. Darmansjah Djumala of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) proposed that ideological resilience should be established as a strategic pillar of national resilience. Djumala argued that in a digitally connected world, a nation must possess the ability to maintain its identity and values against external influences while remaining open to global ideas through critical filtering.
