Indonesia's former MPR secretary Ma'ruf Cahyono and family summoned by KPK over alleged gratuities

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) scheduled the summons of former MPR Secretary General Ma'ruf Cahyono’s wife, Djuwarijah, and his two daughters, Nurani Arimbi Cahyono and Nurma Indah H. Cahyono, on 2 July 2026. The three are being questioned as witnesses in an investigation into alleged receipt of gratuities tied to the procurement of logistics services for the MPR, including the delivery of books and printed materials across regions.

Ma'ruf Cahyono himself was interrogated on 25 June 2026 and has been formally designated a suspect in the case. He denied any involvement, stating, “Ndak (menerima uang). Saya sudah jelaskan semua,” and said investigators had not asked him about a possible Rp 17 billion flow. KPK officials also said they are tracing the former official’s assets through his family members to determine whether any of the alleged gratuities were concealed.

The probe focuses on alleged irregularities in the logistics procurement process within the MPR Secretariat, and KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo indicated that the investigation may proceed to detention and prosecution phases.
