Indonesia's Hajj Ministry Reviews Madinah Health Services Ahead of Pilgrims' Move

Indonesia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, visited the Indonesian Hajj Clinic in Madinah on 4 June 2026 to assess the facility’s readiness for the second wave of pilgrims. He noted that Saudi regulations prohibit inpatient care, limiting the clinic to short‑term observation of up to two hours, and warned that providing inpatient services could trigger sanctions. Yusuf highlighted that only two of the clinic’s five floors are used for medical care, calling the unused space a waste and indicating the need for a new service model.

At the same time, the ministry reported that 27,086 Indonesian pilgrims have already been repatriated from Makkah, with the repatriation effort continuing until 15 June and a second group of pilgrims scheduled to arrive in Madinah on 7 June. The ministry emphasized maintaining accommodation, food, and health‑care standards throughout the post‑Armuzna period and urged continued performance monitoring to ensure pilgrim safety and satisfaction.
