Indonesia's Jokowi diploma fraud case sees claim of imminent court ruling

The investigation into allegations that President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) diploma is forged remains unresolved, fueling public belief that the document is fake. Various commentators, including Rocky Gerung and Peter F. Gontha, have remarked on the controversy, while legal proceedings have faced delays and procedural changes.

Activist Razman Nasution, leader of the “Kami Jokowi” group, announced that the case will soon be declared complete (P21). He told a television program, "Insyaallah, itu (kasus tudigan ijazah palsu) akan segera P21," and urged Roy Suryo and other suspects to prepare for trial. Razman also referenced a recent Supreme Court decision that dismissed a cassation in a separate defamation case, leaving him sentenced to 1.5 years in prison.

The dispute involves accusations of document falsification, defamation claims, and a broader political debate over the president's qualifications.
