Kereta Api Indonesia books 987,851 discounted tickets for school holidays

Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) reported that 987,851 discounted tickets were booked for the school‑holiday period, covering 84.10% of the allotted quota of 1,174,624 seats. A further 186,773 seats remain available for families. Total rail passenger movement during the holidays reached 2,278,245, with 924,105 using discounted fares and 1,354,140 traveling on regular tickets. The busiest travel day was 21 June with 222,965 passengers, followed by 30 June (198,548) and 1 July (198,110). Pasar Senen station in Jakarta saw the highest departures (117,048 passengers), while Yogyakarta recorded 69,721 departures. The Joglosemar Kerto train carried the most discount passengers (50,276), followed by the Ambarawa Express (44,845). KAI urged travelers to book early, use the official Access app, and observe safety guidelines.

The Prameks (Prambanan Express) service between Yogyakarta (Tugu) and Kutoarjo continues to operate daily, with departures from Yogyakarta at 06:40, 11:50, 15:15, 16:20 and 18:05, and from Kutoarjo at 05:10, 09:05, 13:19, 16:50 and 18:45. The one‑way fare remains Rp 8,000, and tickets can be purchased via the Access app, QR code, e‑money or at station gates.
