Indonesia's Kapuas and Kediri Regencies Approve Draft Laws on 2025 Budget Accountability

In the regency of Kapuas, the DPRD’s Commission IV held a session with representatives from health, education, labor, social services and other agencies to discuss the draft regional regulation (Raperda) on accountability for the 2025 regional budget. The commission highlighted ongoing shortages of specialist doctors and urged the local government to allocate scholarship funds for medical education to improve health services.

Meanwhile, in Kediri, the regent and the DPRD signed a joint press note approving their own draft accountability law for the 2025 budget. The approval follows a BPK audit that gave the regency a clean “Wajar Tanpa Pengecualian” opinion for its 2025 finances. The draft will be evaluated by the newly elected governor before being enacted as a regional regulation.
