Indonesia's Kemenag Buru and Kediri Regency Recruitment Processes Stalled

An investigation into alleged irregularities in the selection of PPPK civil servants at the Ministry of Religious Affairs office in Buru Regency has concluded at the regional level, but the Ministry of Religious Affairs has yet to issue a final decision. The case, reported by a temporary staff member, involves 15 alleged offenders. Regional officials say they are awaiting a letter from the Ministry’s personnel bureau before any action can be taken.

In Kediri Regency, the recruitment of village officials cannot commence because the required Ministerial Regulation that operationalises the relevant Government Regulation has not been issued. Local authorities explain that without this decree they cannot draft the necessary Regent Regulation, leaving the appointment of 15 interim village heads and the planned simultaneous village leader elections on hold.
