Indonesia's Kemenko PMK pushes 2026 sports and vocational plans

Kemenko PMK coordinated a meeting in Kupang, Nusa Tenggara Timur to prepare for the 2026 Pekan Special Olympics Nasional (PESONAS II) and the 2028 Pekan Olahraga Nasional (PON XXII). Deputy Warsito and Vice Governor Johni Asadoma discussed venues, infrastructure, transport, accommodation, health services, financing and cross‑sector coordination. The event included opening the regional Special Olympics week (PESODA II) with participants from across the province.

The ministry also participated in the 2026 Manufacturing and Vocational Education Exchange Forum in Hangzhou, China, where Indonesia and China launched Phase II of the International Cluster Vocational Education Program (ICVEEP). Staff expert Katiman emphasized the need to align vocational curricula with AI, smart manufacturing and digitalisation, citing Indonesia’s 2022 presidential regulation on vocational education revitalisation. The partnership will focus on international competency standards, joint curriculum development and industry‑driven training.
