Indonesia's Komdigi rolls out school digital safety program and drafts courier service rules
Indonesia's Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) is expanding digital education in schools to protect children online. The initiative follows Government Regulation No. 17/2025 (PP Tunas) and will integrate child‑online‑safety values into curricula through interactive modules, guidebooks, digital teaching materials and regular training for teachers, parents and students. Bonifasius Wahyu Pudjianto, head of the agency's human‑resources development bureau, said the materials give schools an easy reference without adding to the existing curriculum burden.
At the same time, Komdigi is finalising regulation for digital courier services such as ShopeeFood, GoSend and Grab Express. Deputy Minister Nezar Patria announced the draft is near completion and emphasized that the rule‑making will differ from ride‑hailing because parcel and food delivery involve distinct cost structures, waiting times, parcel dimensions and other operational factors. The new rules aim to provide clarity for the sector while preserving innovation.
