Indonesia's KPK probes alleged leak in anti-corruption raids in Riau and North Sumatra

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is deepening its investigation into suspected leaks of information surrounding its Operasi Tangkap Tangan (OTT) raids in Kuantan Singingi, Riau, and Langkat, North Sumatra. Acting Director of Investigation Achmad Taufik Husein said the probe follows indications that the regents of the two regions were aware of the operations, potentially altering planned cash handovers.

KPK will also evaluate its field procedures, reviewing team deployment methods to minimise future leaks. The commission has named Kuantan Singingi regent Suhardiman Amby, his secretary Zulkarnain, and Langkat regent Syah Afandin as suspects in a suspected corruption case linked to the OTTs carried out on 29 June 2026. KPK stressed that criminal acts leave traces and that the investigation will continue despite the alleged information breach.
