Indonesia's KPK probes customs and immigration corruption cases

Chairperson of Indonesia's Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Komjen (Purn) Setyo Budiyanto, said the agency is reviewing all information presented in the trial of former Customs and Excise Directorate General head Letjen (Purn) Djaka Budhi Utama, who was named in an alleged import‑bribery case. No timetable was given for any further action, and the investigation will continue as the case proceeds.

The KPK also conducted a raid on the Denpasar Immigration Office in Bali as part of a follow‑up to a larger operation that targeted alleged extortion of foreign nationals seeking KITAS and KITAP permits. The earlier sweep on 2–3 June resulted in 17 arrests of civil servants and private intermediaries accused of extracting roughly Rp145.5 billion. The raid remains ongoing, and investigators said they will update the public on any new evidence or suspects.
