Indonesia's KPK summons witnesses in Madiun mayor and Kuantan Singingi regent cases
Indonesia's anti‑corruption commission (KPK) held a continuation hearing in the Tipikor Surabaya court on July 9, 2026, calling eight witnesses in the case of former Madiun mayor Maidi. Among those summoned were Sekda Kota Madiun Soeko Dwi Handiarto, former PUPR official Suwarno and four additional witnesses. The prosecution alleges Maidi and associates siphoned about Rp 1.7 billion from CSR funds for the Winongo landfill and received more than Rp 9 billion in project gratifications.
On the same day KPK also summoned aides, family members and other officials in the investigation of Kuantan Singingi regent Suhardiman Amby. The list included his aide Indrigo Aprianto, a relative Gusman Putra Yuda, his driver Ijon and five further witnesses such as the head of a local village, a sub‑district chief and representatives of two private firms. Amby has been detained on suspicion of accepting bribes for a government appointment. The interrogations are taking place at the BPKP Riau office.
