Indonesia's Labor Adviser Said Iqbal Announces State Support for Kidnapped Workers and PT Pakerin Rescue

President's Special Adviser on Labor and Workers' Welfare, Said Iqbal, said the government will fully cover all medical expenses for three employees who were kidnapped and assaulted at a printing firm in Central Jakarta. He emphasized that the victims’ health, including psychiatric care, will be funded by the state and that the legal process must proceed without intimidation of the victims or their lawyers.

Iqbal also disclosed that Danantara will conduct a financial assessment of PT Pakerin, a paper and caustic soda producer in Mojokerto, East Java, and will urge the State-owned Banks Association (Himbara) to provide a working‑capital loan of up to Rp400 billion. The financing is intended to revive the company’s operations and re‑employ roughly 2,700 workers who faced possible layoffs.

Both measures aim to protect workers’ rights, ensure proper compensation, and stabilize employment in the affected sectors.
