Indonesia's Land Agency launches 10‑day title‑transfer pilot on Aug 17, 2026

The Ministry of Agrarian and Spatial Planning and the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) will begin a pilot project for land‑title transfers (balik nama) on 17 August 2026. The trial, announced by Minister Nusron Wahid, targets a maximum processing time of ten business days for the entire service, covering verification of the land‑and‑building acquisition tax, deed preparation by land‑registry officials, and final administrative steps.

The pilot will run for three months in fifteen selected land offices across Indonesia, including offices in Surabaya, Malang, Badung, Buleleng, Samarinda, Pontianak, Makassar, Semarang, South Tangerang, Batam, Jakarta‑North, Jakarta‑West, Jakarta‑South and Jakarta‑Central. Results will be evaluated before any wider rollout.
