Indonesia's Ministry of Culture supports Election Journey Museum

Indonesia's Ministry of Culture has announced its support for the development of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Election Journey Museum. The facility, located at the KPU's East Jakarta office, aims to serve as an educational space documenting the nation's democratic and electoral history.

Culture Minister Fadli Zon stated that the ministry will provide expert assistance for exhibition design and storyline development, potentially collaborating with the National Museum of Indonesia. The goal is to create an attractive, digital, and immersive experience to engage younger generations, such as Gen Z, through interactive elements like election simulations.

The museum, which officially opened on August 3, 2026, features artifacts dating back to the 1955 elections. Planned exhibits include an election timeline from 1955 to the present, narratives on election participants and results, visual artifacts like symbols and pamphlets, and historical books regarding early election results.
