Indonesia's Ministry of Health partners with Attorney General to oversee health projects
The Indonesian Ministry of Health and the Attorney General's Office have signed two cooperation agreements to oversee national strategic projects and prevent legal risks in health infrastructure development. The partnership aims to ensure that large-scale health transformation programs are executed effectively, efficiently, and accountably.
The collaboration involves two main pillars: program oversight by the Intelligence Division (Jamintel) and legal assistance regarding civil and administrative law by the Civil and State Administrative Division (Jamdatun). Officials emphasized the importance of early legal guidance, starting from the planning stages, to minimize potential violations.
Key upcoming health infrastructure targets include the renovation of 10,000 community health centers (puskesmas) across 7,285 districts, the construction of 514 public health laboratories, and the revitalization of 441 regional and mental hospitals. Additionally, the Ministry reported significant procurement savings through consolidation efforts for the 2025–2026 period, totaling Rp10.25 trillion in medical equipment and Rp1.20 trillion in medicines and medical consumables.
