Indonesia's Ministry of Labor teams with Microsoft and GreatNusa for AI-driven job fair
The Ministry of Labor of Indonesia (Kemnaker) announced a partnership with GreatNusa, a venture launched by BINUS University, and Microsoft Indonesia to boost AI skills among the country's workforce. The collaboration was unveiled at the AI Career Boost Day 2026 event in Jakarta, where Minister Yassierli emphasized that “Transformasi digital tidak bisa kita hindari. Karena itu, kita harus memastikan tenaga kerja Indonesia memiliki kompetensi yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan industri.”
The initiative will expand an AI‑based job matching platform, provide digital upskilling through 43 training centers and online courses, and has already delivered digital skills training to roughly 50,000 participants. It aims to meet rising industry demand for AI‑competent talent, citing a 2.4‑fold increase in Southeast Asian AI job listings and the projection of 170 million new technology‑based jobs globally by 2030.
