Indonesia's Ministry of Religion launches programs to boost wakaf literacy and santri scholarship opportunities
The Ministry of Religion in Kulon Progo, Indonesia, partnered with UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta to run a KKN Tematik Perwakafan program. The initiative aims to improve community literacy on waqf, streamline asset administration, and accelerate legal certification of waqf lands, with services such as the "Jemput Bola Layanan Wakaf" consultation and certification support.
Separately, Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar announced a new scheme to prepare santri for the national LPDP scholarship. The program will focus on enhancing English proficiency, academic potential test (TPA) scores, and TOEFL preparation, offering mentorship throughout the scholarship application process and open to all eligible students regardless of organizational affiliation.
