Indonesia's MPR Sets Annual Session for 14 August 2026

The People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) of Indonesia has scheduled its annual session and a joint session with the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Regional Representative Council (DPD) for Friday, 14 August 2026. The meeting will open at 08:30 WIB, earlier than in previous years, to avoid overlapping with the Friday prayer.

MPR Chair Ahmad Muzani will deliver the opening speech, followed by the DPD chair and President Prabowo Subianto, who will give the state address and present a performance report of state institutions. A second agenda item on the financial report is slated for 13:30–16:00. Vice‑Chair Eddy Soeparno noted that participants will wear civil clothing rather than traditional attire and that invitations will be sent to former presidents, vice‑presidents and foreign heads of state, though confirmations are pending.
