Indonesia's NasDem targets top‑three finish in 2029 election

Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian NasDem Party, Saan Mustopa, announced the party’s goal of securing a top‑three position in the 2029 general election. He noted that NasDem has seen a significant rise in vote share across the three previous elections and warned that competition will intensify.

Speaking at the party’s Congress II and the 15th anniversary of the Garda Pemuda (NasDem Youth Wing) in Jakarta, Mustopa stressed that the youth wing is the “backbone” and primary source of new party leadership. He called for the organisation to remain clean and credible, warning that any contamination would affect future leaders. The deputy also urged party members to support one another, deepen solidarity, and uphold integrity as the party prepares for a more competitive political landscape.

Mustopa reiterated the party’s broader mission to serve the public, citing the party’s founding principle of easing societal burdens rather than adding to them.
