Indonesia's National Child Day 2026 promotes health, safety and eco education
On 28 July 2026, Salatiga hosted the National Child Day ceremony at Lapangan Pancasila under the theme “Little Eco Heroes”. Bunda PAUD Retno Robby Hernawan led the event, which featured orchid tree‑planting, distribution of bottle‑sorting waste bins and awards for children’s creative contests.
In Kupang, the “Festival Sehat Ceria Si Kecil” was held on 23 July 2026 at Aula El Tari. The festival, a joint effort of K‑24 Group and PT Sarihusada Generasi Mahardhika, gathered roughly 1,000 children and parents for growth‑screening, nutrition education and stunting prevention. Officials highlighted that 19.8 % of Indonesian children are stunted and that East Nusa Tenggara records a 37 % prevalence, affecting more than 214 000 children.
Palembang’s celebration took place at SLB YPAC with the theme “Sayangi Anak, Lindungi Anak, Bangun Masa Depan”, emphasizing protection from violence, bullying and discrimination. City staff expert Edison noted that about 25 % of Palembang’s residents are children, underscoring the importance of safeguarding their rights and wellbeing.
